A massive, sparkly thank you to the incredible crew and volunteers who transformed Radion Amsterdam into a vibrant Kaleidoscope of Souls last weekend! The energy was electric, the creativity was overflowing, and the connections were truly magical. We hope you all had an amazing time reconnecting with the Burner spirit.

Mark your calendars, burners! We’re hosting a Town Huddle on December 2nd at 19:30 in Ahknaton Amsterdam. (Follow this to the Facebook event)
We’re curious to know what’s been happening behind the scenes with our dearest BMNL Organization. After a year of hard work and deliberations, the board and strategy committee are excited to share our progress, including the envisioned structure for more co-created governance.
This TownHuddle will also be our festive Kick Off for Where The Sheep Sleep 2025. YES, the SHEEP are roaming the meadows again in the week of 16-24 June in Zeewolde! If you have questions or like to play a part as a lead in the next summer event, please join us and meet some of the Shepherds.
Speaking of meeting, this is also a lovely occasion to welcome and meet our new board member Molly Stevens. And thank our interim chair Alvaro, who will be concluding his function in a couple of weeks
And let’s not forget to look back at a fabulous decompression and look forward to our 10 year anniversary and some other topics that we would like to go over with you.

Burning Man Netherlands is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and experienced Chairperson of the Board to guide our community into the future. This is a rare opportunity to connect with the BMNL community, Regional Contacts (RCs), and Burning Man Project (US) to ensure smooth collaboration and shared vision.
As Chairperson, you’ll act as the glue that holds our community and leadership together, helping shape our strategic direction and championing the 10 Principles. If you’re a natural leader, an excellent networker, and deeply committed to Burner values, we’d love for you to step forward.
We’re seeking someone who:
- Has exceptional leadership and networking skills.
- Is truly connected to the BMNL community.
- Brings a deep understanding of and commitment to the 10 Principles.
Improved Selection Process
We’ve recently refined our approach to make the selection process fairer, clearer, and more inclusive. Here’s what’s new:
- Two interview rounds: Ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of all candidates.
- Fresh perspectives: Second-round interviews include new committee members for unbiased assessments.
- Defined committee roles: Clear responsibilities like Scheduling Lead and Rubric Lead.
- A transparent timeline: A full roadmap for the selection process is shared upfront.
- Extended first-round interviews: Conversations now last 45 minutes for more depth.
Estimated timeline (subject to change)
18 November: call open for 3 weeks
8 December: call closes
16 – 22 December: Round 1 interviews of selected candidates
22 December – 19 January: Community input gathered
27 January – 2 February: Round 2 of shortlisted candidates
10 February Recommendation submitted to the Board, Final Candidate introduced to the Board
17 – 23 February: Newly appointed Chair Person announced to the community
